My daughter asked me what the Anthropocene is. I explained it’s a new term for this time we live in when humans have a strong influence on the environment.

The ice age ended about 11,000 years ago, beginning the Holocene, when humans in the Middle East began to till the earth and settle down. Giant tigers, mammoths and sloths became extinct.

In the Anthropocene, humans did away with humanity.
